Yes, I am still around. You guys just got spoiled last year with the weekly uploads. Let's see what's new on the gcc2 repo. As always, the x86_64 repo plays catch-up.
I try to give pride of place to native apps, and to apps compiled by contributors to the repo. Matthias Lindtner sent me MonkeyStudio, a nice lightweight IDE. There will be more ports by contributors in the next repo update: Dario has sent me a multi-format games emulator and I've also picked up a new programming language from the Haiku forums. But for now, let's see what I've come up with myself. I'm working my way though my collection of QT5 apps at the moment ...
ChessX is not a chess-playing program. It is a chess learning program, on which you can replay famous games and analyze them. There is a bug: it wants to re-download the cgess games database every time. After the first time, just say NO and load the database from the menu.
Connectagram is a word unscrambling game. The board consists of several scrambled words that are joined together. You can choose the length of the words, the amount of words, and the pattern that the words are arranged in. The game provides a hint option for times when you are stuck, and features an online word lookup that fetches the definitions of each word from Wiktionary. Your current progress is automatically saved. Word lookup is not working in this port.
In Cutemaze you are a mouse in a maze. It is a simple, top-down game in which mazes are randomly generated using one of a choice of several different algorithms. You move the character through the maze while hunting for targets (cheese, by default)--the game is won once all of these targets have been picked up.
Fleeting Password Manager (packagename: fleetingpm) is the most original app of its kind I have seen. generates highly secure pseudo-random passwords from the given master password, URL/ID and user name. The user needs to remember only her master password to recover other passwords. Passwords are always regenerated on-the-fly from the given login data when needed and are never saved. In other words, Fleeting Password Manager combines the password creation and management. There is no database - online or local - for the bad guys to hack! The length of the generated password is configurable between 8 and 32 characters and Fleeting Password Manager can remember wanted URL/User-pairs.
Hexalate is a colour-matching game. The goal of the game is to rotate and position the circles so that each touching line matches in color. You rotate circles by right clicking, and you move circles by dragging them. The game stores the positions and rotations of the circles across runs. More complicated than you think .... BUG: changing languages does not work, but it is a totally visual game so who cares?
qAceEdit ... well, how many more text editors do we need? Just one more ...
